Privacy
What data this site collects, what it does not, and who else is involved.
The short version
You can read every word of research on this site without giving any personal data and without accepting anything. Reading is not conditional on consent. There is one thing you can choose to give us, which is your email address for the newsletter, and one thing that may ask for your consent, which is advertising.
Unpriced runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no third-party analytics product of any kind, no tracking pixel and no visitor profiling. Typefaces are served from this domain rather than from a font network, so simply loading a page contacts no font provider.
Who is responsible
Unpriced is an independent research publication operated by an individual in Spain. Contact for any privacy question, including the rights described below:
The formal identity and postal address of the data controller, and whether a representative or data protection officer is required, have not been settled and are deliberately not stated here rather than guessed. SeeLEGAL_REVIEW.md in the project repository.
The newsletter
Subscribing is the only way to give this site personal data directly.
What is collected. Your email address, the exact consent wording you agreed to, the date and time you agreed to it, and the fact that the subscription came from this website. Nothing else. No name is requested and none is stored.
Why the consent record exists. Storing the wording and its timestamp means there is a record of what you agreed to and when, rather than merely that you agreed to something.
Where it goes. The form posts to a small function on this site's own infrastructure, which passes the data to Kit, the email provider that operates the list and sends the messages. Kit processes your address on our behalf. Unpriced keeps no subscriber database of its own.
Double opt-in. Subscribing sends you a confirmation email and nothing else. Until you click the link in it you receive no research, and an address that is never confirmed never becomes a subscription.
Unsubscribing. Every email carries an unsubscribe link. It takes effect immediately, it is handled by Kit, and you never need to contact us to use it.
No selling, no sharing. Your address is not sold, rented or passed to anyone other than Kit, for the sole purpose of sending you the research you asked for.
The stated lawful basis, the retention period after an unsubscribe, and the arrangements covering transfer of subscriber data outside the European Economic Area by the email provider all require legal review before launch. They are not stated here because they have not been established.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which serves every page and operates the network in front of it. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical information that reaching a website necessarily involves, including your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user agent. This happens for delivery, security and abuse prevention.
Unpriced does not add analytics on top of this and does not build any profile from it.
The precise retention and processing terms applying to infrastructure logs are the provider's and have not been independently verified for this statement.
Advertising
Some pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertising appears only in the outer margins of wide desktop screens, never inside an article, and never on this page or on any other legal or transactional page.
Google may set cookies or read similar identifiers on your device to serve and measure advertising. Where the applicable rules require it, Google's own certified consent platform asks you first, and your choice governs what Google may do. You can consent, refuse, or manage the options individually.
Refusing does not restrict anything on this site. Every article remains fully readable either way.
Cookies and local storage
Unpriced sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. Any cookie or similar identifier you encounter here comes from Google, in connection with advertising and consent, and is governed by the choice you make in the consent message.
Changing your advertising choices
Two controls appear in the footer of pages that carry advertising, and which one you see depends on where you are, because the two regimes work differently.
Privacy choices appears to readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. It reopens Google's consent message, where you can consent, refuse, or manage the options individually, and change or withdraw whatever you chose before.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Informationappears to readers in US states whose law provides that right. It opens Google's opt-out dialog, and once you have opted out the link stops appearing because there is nothing further to do.
Neither appears on this page, on the other legal pages, or on the newsletter pages. Those pages carry no advertising and load nothing from Google at all, so there is no consent platform on them to reopen.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to request access to the personal data held about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, which does not affect the lawfulness of what happened before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, write toresearch@unpricedresearch.com. In practice the only personal data Unpriced holds about a reader is a newsletter subscription, and unsubscribing removes it from future sending immediately.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Children
This site publishes equity research for an adult readership. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this notice
This notice is versioned with the site in a public repository, so every change to it is a dated commit rather than a silent edit. Where a change is material, such as advertising being enabled for the first time, the relevant section is rewritten rather than adjusted.
